We convened with our partners at Wisk on April 28 for an exciting episode of CoMotion LIVE on the social acceptance of urban air mobility: Are Cities Really Ready for Transportation in the Third Dimension?
The technology behind drones and air taxis is already here, and companies are ready to send them flying! So what’s holding them to the ground?
Companies, cities and US federal agencies have been hard at work to speed along the implementation of low-altitude transportation over our cities. There is still much work to be done, though, to convince the public that aerial transit is a safe and desired mobility option. From noise pollution, privacy concerns, and safety — there’s still skepticism about our Jetsons future.
For this discussion we were joined with Fred Judson, Director of the Ohio Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center at Ohio Department of Transportation/DriveOhio; Beth Kigel, VP at HNTB and Chair of C-LAB’s UAM Taskforce; Jeannie Lam, Director of Strategy at Wisk; Yolanka Wulff, Executive Director of Community Air Mobility Initiative (CAMI); and your moderator Dan Dalton, VP Global Partnerships at Wisk.
